Oil Painting: Early Spring: Dogwood Study on Linen Panel // 10" x 10"
The oil paintings in this collection were created to capture my first year of motherhood. In the extreme hustle and change that came, I aimed to set aside time to observe, sit, and study. I wanted to recommit to myself when everything outside of me told me my life was no longer my own. I wanted to paint again. I hope this collection reminds you to slow down too.
It’s the earliest days of spring. The air is changing. There’s a lot of gray, but the neutral palette of these days is warming. Dogwood flowers are emerging like little porcelain saucers that appear to float, weightless from their branches.
Painted on a linen panel the loosely painted stripes feel slightly nautical in the classic blue and white palette.
This modern aesthetic feels stylish, unfussy, and elegant all at the same time.
Adding a cheeky nod to Suite One Studio, a pale blue porcelain vase holds the sweet dogwood blossoms.
Measurements:
10" x 10"
Paintings are signed, titled, and dated on the reverse.
