Each vase begins at the wheel, shaped from creamy porcelain and refined by hand. Once formed, the surface becomes a canvas for a freehand Chinoiserie-inspired peony design—carved directly into the clay. The pattern moves intuitively across the vessel, making every piece a truly one-of-a-kind work of art.
The peony, long celebrated in pottery design, is a symbol of good fortune and enduring love. Its lush, layered petals bring an added depth of meaning to the carved decoration, echoing themes of beauty, abundance, and romance.
After carving, the details are brought to life with watercolor layers of blue, violet, and aqua. Our signature Seaglass glaze flows inside, creating a luminous interior that complements the glossy white exterior.
The underside is left unglazed, sanded to a smooth finish, and signed by Lindsay Emery—an artist’s touch that affirms its place as a collectible heirloom.
